A learning or work experience that changed me: Last year, I started a Somali women’s fitness class in Faribault. Professionally, I learned a lot about organizing in that community and personally I learned a lot from the women that came to the classes.
Why did you choose to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA with College Health Corps?: As an undergrad, I had worked with HealthFinders to increase participant leadership and involvement in the HealthFinder programs. After graduating, I was interested in continuing this work and using the connections that I had made with the organization and community to work on wellness programming as well.
Place I would most like to visit: Antarctica

One thing I can’t live without: my family and friends
Hobbies: Nordic skiing/rollerskiing; Anything that involves being active outside (walking, biking, playing on the playground . . .)
In 5 years I would like to be: In five years, I would like to be in medical school working to become a primary care physician.
